Humana, Corporate Vice President of Strategic Partnerships (retired)
Before retirement, Bill Tait held the position of corporate vice president of strategic partnerships at Humana. He was responsible for the strategic direction of Humana’s overall portfolio of corporate sponsorships. These included the Humana Challenge, the PGA TOUR, The Clinton Foundation and The First Tee.
Prior to this position, Bill was the vice president of sales and market operations. He was responsible for Humana’s overall commercial lines of business.
After joining Humana in 2002, Bill introduced a broader consultative-selling model and implemented a consistent field sales strategy and structure for all commercial lines of business.
Under Bill’s direction, Humana successfully diversified their overall membership mix and financial balance, introduced new consumer-focused product offerings, effectively focused the organization on cross selling its entire product portfolio and integrated several specialty and worksite acquisitions into one strategic selling organization.
From 1997 through 2001, Bill served as president of CIGNA Healthcare's Mid-Atlantic region, covering six states and the District of Columbia. In this role, Bill was responsible for healthcare operations, sales, marketing and finance. Previously, Bill served for 21 years with Aetna, with his last position as president and general manager of the company's Metro New York market.
Bill has a bachelor’s degree in business administration finance from Drexel University.
