Not every cyber claim is the same, so why treat them as if they are?  Lawyers, and to a lesser degree information technology (IT) services providers, have established themselves as the leaders in cyber incident management.  Lawyers' position atop they cyber incident management mantel occurred in large part due to a perception they are needed to provide the protection of attorney-client privilege, and that they are better equipped to deal with high-stakes and high-stress scenarios with the proper sense of urgency.  While these services are, and will remain, essential components of cyber claims handling and the cyber provider ecosystem, their expertise is necessary at the right time and not necessarily for every situation that transpires.
